Take a trip where you live your yoga; where you enjoy living IN the culture experiencing the place where you are instead of the typical resort vacation that could be anywhere; where you challenge yourself mentally, physically, and spiritually to reach high goals; where your enjoyment and happiness come from giving yourself a chance to rejuvenate and restore mind, body and spirit, and from giviing to others through volunteer opportunities and simply smiling and radiating your true self out in the world. These are experiences you will carry home with you that will become a part of who you are. We offer these adventures at the lowest possible cost, because we measure profit by the number of people who are able to come along and experience different cultures, reach challenging goals, and find community, happiness, and abundance in places most Westerners would consider poor.
At AdventurousYogi, we provide you with experienced, talented staff, through our caring yoga guides who lead amazing endeavors both on the yoga mat and out in the natural world and exquisite vegetarian meals prepared with love by amazing chefs; we strive to provide you with the opportunity to serve others in our retreats that include volunteer experiences in unique communities; and most of all, we are here because we love our work–sharing ourselves and our experiences with individuals who have decided to go on a one-of-a-kind adventure that serves as both a restorative retreat for the mind, body, and spirit and a place to learn and grow through doing, moving, sharing, laughing, giving, being.
You get an adventure you won’t forget, without the hassles of planning, arranged by people who’ve already visited and researched the best places to sleep, visit, and experience. Our retreats which focus primarily on yoga feature practicing, certified teachers with experience in several different styles of yoga, including Anusara, Iyengar, Tibetan Heart, Vinyasa flow, and hot yoga among others. You are guaranteed at least four hours of yoga a day plus up to four additional hours each day of optional classes such as belly dancing and breathwork sessions. Massage therapy as well as rock climbing are offered for an additional fee with professionals in these fields.
Our trekking adventures, with daily yoga practices of 1 to 2 hours, take you to little-visited locales in gorgeous surroundings, such as the Alpujarra mountains and communities in southern Spain with their Moorish influences from over 700 years ago and the Andes of Bolivia and Peru where people live now as their ancestors did under the Incas, living, working, and harvesting their crops as a community unit rather than as individual families, thus ensuring that all are well cared for. Trekking adventures with no volunteer opportunity give 15 percent of proceeds to nonprofits based in the region we are visiting.
Trips with a focus on volunteering give us the chance to share ourselves with orphans who need our attention or help a community build a much-needed greenhouse to protect vegetables from an unrelenting sun and freezing cold nights. And of course the people we go to help end up giving us much more than they receive, through their smiles, their gratitude, their love of life. It is contagious! Volunteer adventures also include daily yoga practices of 2.5 to 4 hours and the possibility of other day trips such as horseback riding, trekking, and paragliding to name a few. Also available are optional extensions to go trekking for several days.
So, as you see, the possibilities are endless. I want to share these experiences with as many people as possible, through offering affordable vacations of a completely different nature: integrating a deep yoga practice into life by combining yoga with trekking and volunteering. Please investigate our adventures and I look forward to hearing from you. Have a great day. I wish you all the happiness you can stand, today and always.
